The long running Hope Valley Railway Upgrade in the north of England took a step forward over the Easter break and last week too. New track has been installed at West View Lane and through Dore and Totley station on the south eastern extremity of Sheffield. It is all part of ongoing work to build a second track, reinstate a second platform, and make the station more accessible for passenger with mobility challenges. Also, just as a side-effect, the new track layout will greatly improve access to the critical junction upon which the station sits.
