Siemens Mobility has announced that 109 of their Avenio high-floor light rails were ordered by Düsseldorfer Rheinbahn AG and Duisburger Verkehrsgesellschaft. These will provide transport for two million people in Dusseldorf and Duisburg in 2025. The contract for the vehicles includes an option to add an extra 48 units and supplies a 24 year of spare parts, maintenance and servicing.
