On March 6 & 7 of this year, the Jaarbeurs in Utrecht transformed into the place to meet for the European railway sector, with over 100 participating parties at the exhibition, a dynamic conference and more than 35 workshops. RailTech interviewed ace4rail leadership live on the conference floor.

Ace4Rail LLC, headquartered in Basel-Stadt, Switzerland, emerged onto the scene in 2022 with a clear mission: to provide leased rolling stock for the European passenger rail market. Founded by Axel Kiese, with over a decade of experience in strategic fleet management of railway vehicles, he quickly formed a team with Luca Oberholzer as Chief Financial Officer, and Albert Koch as Chief Customer Officer.

Ace4Rail targets railway operators across Europe, offering a suite of services tailored to modernise passenger transport. Central to its offerings is full-service leasing of rail vehicles, with an emphasis on locomotive-hauled passenger trains. The package also includes maintenance and insurance provisions, to cater to the evolving needs of the industry.

Albert Koch, Chief Customer Officer, and Axel Kiese, Founder & Chief Executive Officer of ace4rail, discuss their plans for the company at RailTech Europe 2024, with journalist Esther Geerts.
