British rail strikes have taken a break, but not gone away
The largest union involved in the unresolved dispute on the British railway network has restated tis intent to find resolution for its members. The Rail, Maritime and Transport union (RMT) has said that talks with the employers’ representatives, the Rail Delivery Group (RDG) have not yielded any satisfactory outcome, despite extended periods around the negotiating table. The RMT has initiated a further ballot, as required by UK legislation, to renew its mandate to call for industrial action.
