Rolling stock manufacturers and parties involved in maintenance need to gain a deeper understanding of the levels of fatigue loading experienced by rolling stock. That is one of the recommendation made by the Office of Rail and Road (ORR) following its review of the industry response to the issues with Hitachi Rail’s Class 800 series trains last year.
