Automatic speed cameras at 40 Dutch railway crossings
To catch road users barely crossing a railway crossing when the red light is already flashing and barriers are lowering, the Dutch infrastructure manager ProRail will install speed cameras. These automatically detect whether someone commits a violation, after which someone can expect a fine on their doorstep. The railway manager wants to install the camera at about forty level crossings. Since today, speed cameras have been in use at a busy railway crossing in Bunnik.
