By proving “equal”, by aligning with now needed at supply chains, etc., when proactively proving resilient and redundant (robust) then “Shift2Rail”, etc., will be more than a slogan.
When the, on shore safest and most energy effective, mode is high quality, then a serious alternative, for more than a few, then sound and sustainable, railways will contribute.
(All reactive, suboptimal, “optimal maintenance”…, etc., etc. is good, but regrettably still suboptimal.)
