Banedanmark signs with Vossloh for preassembled switch systems

Railway switch Vossloh

Vossloh signed a long-term framework agreement with Banedanmark, the Danish state’s rail infrastructure manager, this Monday. The company will supply Banedanmark with switch systems and corresponding spare parts for a period of four years, with an estimated total sales volume of approximately 40 million euros.

To ensure seamless and efficient delivery of preassembled switch systems to Banedanmark, Vossloh will establish a local production facility spanning approximately 3,000 square metres. This facility will be strategically located next to Banedanmark’s concrete sleeper production site in Fredericia, Denmark. The proximity of the production facility to Banedanmark’s operations is expected to streamline the supply chain, resulting in shorter lead times and reduced environmental impact.

Commenting on the development, Jan Furnivall, COO of Vossloh AG, stated, “Northern Europe has been an important market for us in the turnout systems business for years. In 2022 alone, we generated sales revenues of around 130 million euros in the Northern European market. The order from Banedanmark significantly strengthens our market position in the important Danish market. We are looking forward to a trusting, long-term, and – not only from a geographical point of view – close cooperation.”

Under the terms of the agreement, both parties have included options for extending the agreement for an additional two years.
