Alliance gets Wokingham back on track
Pot of gold awaits completion of the Colas Rail led project at Wokingham Colas Rail
The South Rail Systems Alliance is a collaboration between the UK government’s infrastructure management agency Network Rail, the engineering contractors AECOM, and Colas Rail, the rail freight and specialist engineering support operators. Together, they have just delivered a radical reworking of a critical junction at Wokingham, just southeast of Reading. The busy market town serves long-distance commuters, and lies on an alternative route to and from London, avoiding the Great Western Mainline.
