On January 30, SpoorPro reported that on March 5, the lawsuit would be filed by the Province of Limburg and the Municipality of Maastricht against the Flemish Region and the Transport Company De Lijn. In this case, the Dutch parties demand that the Flemish parties fulfil their financial obligations in a proposed tram project. However, that wasn’t entirely accurate, as it turns out. On 5 March 2024,  the decision was made by the province and the municipality to indeed proceed with the lawsuit.
