VR FleetCare secures maintenance contract with Danish train operator

VR FleetCare, a provider of maintenance solutions for rail vehicles, has announced a significant contract win with Danish train operator Nordjyske Jernbaner A/S. The agreement, covering the maintenance of bogies and pneumatic components for Alstom Coradia LINT series trains, is set to span from 2024 to 2029.

The maintenance activities will be conducted at VR FleetCare’s specialised Component Services locations in Helsinki and Pieksämäki, focusing on bogie restoration and pneumatic components. The agreement includes the maintenance of 14 train sets between 2024 and 2026, with an additional 5 train sets scheduled for 2029.

Wilhelm Schevelew, Head of Sales and Development at VR FleetCare, expressed satisfaction with the new venture into the Danish market, emphasising the strategic importance of expanding maintenance services, particularly in component servicing. “Nordjyske Jernbaner’s selection of VR FleetCare for this essential maintenance package underscores our commitment to maintaining fleet value,” Schevelew stated.

Morten Muff Jensen, Technical Manager at Nordjyske Jernbaner, highlighted VR FleetCare’s winning bid and its significance in the lifecycle management of their rolling stock while Jensen expressed confidence in VR FleetCare’s expertise and experience in rail vehicle maintenance.
