German state taps Alstom for almost 1 billion euros worth of trains

The transport association responsible for passenger rail in the German federal state of Schleswig-Holstein, NAH.SH, has reached a deal with Alstom for 40 new Coradia Stream high-capacity electric multiple units. The agreement announced on Tuesday includes maintenance, which pushes the contract value to almost 900 million euros.
