China unveils maglev train with peak speed of 620 km/h

China has presented a prototype of a maglev train with a record designed speed of 620 kilometers per hour. The new train, using high-temperature superconducting (HTS), was rolled out on Wednesday in southwest China’s city of Chengdu. China’s fastest currently operating maglev line has a maximum speed of 431 kilometers per hour.
