Rail Baltica preps for construction work on section to Polish border

The Lithuanian government has begun land acquisitions in the area between the city of Kaunas and the Polish border. Transferring ownership of plots of land and objects to the government should speed up preparations for the construction of Rail Baltica, the planned high-speed line linking the Baltic States to the European-gauge network.

First operation 2028, in five years?
Finished in 2030, in seven years?
Sorry, I don’t believe it. Nobody builds that fast – well, the Chinese could maybe, disregarding any legal obstacles.
I have just traveled all the way, started Sunday morning in Talinn Estonia, arriving today Monday evening in Warszawa, Poland.
I walked across the frontier from Latvia to Turmanta, Lietuva, this morning, as the train service is stopped.
