Russian and Uzbekistan Railways to create a single digital space

The two company heads of Russian Railways and Uzbekistan Railways met during a three-day working visit of a delegation of Uzbekistan Railways to Moscow. The companies plan to work together more on digitalisation and create a single digital space and unified technologies.

Oleg Belozerov, CEO and Chairman of the Board of Russian Railways, and Khusnutdin Khasilov, Chairman of the Board of Uzbekistan Railways, discussed the prospects for cooperation in the field of digitalisation during the visit.

The transition to unified technologies will increase the reliability and transparency of rail transportation, reduce the time required for cargo clearance and, as a result, will contribute to the expansion of the freight base between the two countries.

Digital transformation

The experts from Uzbekistan studied the experience of Russian Railways in the Company’s digital transformation, visited the Main Control Centre and the Transportation Control Centre of Russian Railways and became acquainted with the organisation of the Moscow Central Ring.

During the meeting, the company heads also discussed cooperation on reforming rail transport in Uzbekistan and the development of transport and logistics services.

In addition, experts from the two railway companies looked at practical steps aimed at developing the Russia – Uzbekistan agro-logistics corridor and launching the Agroexpress fast-track refrigerated container (reefer) train.
