Glimmer of hope in UK drivers’ strike
Monday’s public holiday in the UK was typical. Cloudy with the threat of rain. However, those clouds had a silver lining. There was news of an attempt at reconciliation in the long-running industrial dispute between the train drivers’ union and the railway operators. The Financial Times newspaper claimed that an approach had been made by the operators, seeking an informal discussion with the trades union.
