London’s funding uncertainty has cast a shadow on rail freight operations. Transport for London (TfL) has recently announced a moratorium on larger transport infrastructure projects due to funding uncertainty and inflationary pressures. The agency that manages the UK capital’s transport operations has been struggling since the pandemic, and has received several bail out funds from the UK government in the light of suppressed passenger revenues.
