State aid to DB cargo investigated by the EU

The European Commission will conduct an ‘in-depth investigation’ into state aid to DB Cargo in response to a complaint about the situation. The goal is to find out to what extent certain aid measures by the German government for DB Cargo are in line with the European state aid rules. Representatives of the railway sector feel justified by the development.
