Railways & Environment – 28 January 2016

“Rail, as a low oil, low carbon transport mode, can make a crucial contribution to both energy security and climate Change (CER).” → View Conference Programme

Rail is the greenest mode of transport and is contributing to the international goals of greenhouse gas emission. Yet big steps to reduce the CO₂ footprint can be made, not only by reducing energy consumption but also through the use of alternative fuels. Another feature often underestimated in the rail sector when compared with airplane industry is the use of lighter and renewable materials.

The conference will focus on:

  • Energy savings
  • Alternative fuels
  • Lighter and renewable materials
