Logistics UK want government to review the Mode Shift Revenue Support scheme

Industry representative body Logistics UK has called on the UK government to review the Mode Shift Revenue Support (MSRS) scheme. The initiative, aimed at rail and inland water freight transport, is designed to help the logistics chain adapt to become more accommodating for water, as well as rail operators. This though is proving less effective than hoped, according to business group Logistics UK.

Currently just a minority affords luxury of not caring about eta and “price elasticity” is very high. (Subsidies is waste of fresh money.)
Added quality, the alternative, however pays. When service is equal or better, than the currently available, sound and sustainable, Shift will be seen – a win win.
(For added edge of railways, a decisive shift, to a New Old Railway is needed.).
70 kip, safely allowed axial load shall be min. and provided for – at any investment, reinvestment, etc.
