The European Commission has approved a 20-billion-euro German state aid scheme to aid domestic companies that have suffered due to the war in Ukraine and related sanctions. The scheme concerns companies in all sectors, and the railway sector could benefit as well. Compensation for elevated energy prices is also on the table.
