Second edition RailTech Infra Forum focuses on ERTMS

After the successful launch of the RailTech Infra Forum this June, the second edition will take place in September. It will focus on the deployment of ERTMS in Europe and other parts of the world. What are the main challenges in this phase? Like the operation in freight or the training of people who have to work with it.

ERTMS was announced some decades ago as a promising system that would create one Single European Railway Area. It would make cross-border railway operation as easy as taking a plane. ERTMS should be a stepping stone to the implementation of several innovations such as Automatic Train Operation, digital coupling and so on. Where are we now?

The online conference RailTech Infra Forum will take place on the 30th of September and 1st of October. High level expert speakers from the infrastructure- as well as the operator side and European governmental bodies will present the latest developments and future plans for ERTMS.

The program, topics and speakers will be announced soon. It covers amongst others:

  • ERTMS in Freight Operation;
  • ERTMS outside of Europe;
  • Future after ERTMS;
  • Future Railway Mobile Communication System (FRMCS);
  • Challenges during the implementation process.

The call for papers for the RailTech Infra Forum 2020 is open until the 16th of August. Check the event webpage for more information.
