SBB expands usage of cloud solution

Source: SBB

Swiss railway operator SBB has begun to use the IVU.cloud solution for efficient planning and dispatching all employees in the stationary areas of sales, service and marketing. It is the next stage in the company’s strategy to move towards digitalisation.

Less than a month ago, SBB has started to use the IVU.cloud solution for planning its freight operations. Now, the cloud is available for improving employee communication and optimising staff allocation. The system runs on Amazon Web Services servers operated and maintained by IVU Traffic Technologies, the Berlin-based IT company. All the data is stored redundantly and secured in accordance with the most stringent standards against unauthorised access.

IVU solutions

SBB plans and dispatches its personnel in a standardised manner with IVU.rail in IVU.cloud. Both solutions were developed by IVU Traffic Technologies. The IVU.rail solution offers various functions such as automatic personnel dispatch (APD), optimised duty schedules and faster workflows. All of them make the work of SBB’s employees and reduce the company’s costs for time-consuming operations management. It is worth to note that the Swiss company employs 2,300 people at its contact centre and around 150 travel centres throughout the country. This move allows the railway operator to provide better service for around 1.25 million local and long-distance passengers using its trains every day.
