French night trains: MPs back push for extra €150m for sleepers in 2025 budget
It’s budget time in France, and while there are plans for more of the same in terms of rail investment, there is a new focus on sleeper services. The National Assembly’s Finance Committee has adopted an amendment to allocate 150 million euros to night trains for 2025. It first has to be voted into the national budget, but if the plan becomes formalised, it could mean the start of grand plans to invest 1.5 billion euros in French sleepers over the next decade.
