Warming ties: EU releases €38m for key CPK line, but Poland pushing for more
The European Commission has given Poland’s CPK infrastructure megaproject around 38 million euros to draw up the designs for a key part of its future “Y” route, set to serve as the backbone of Poland’s high-speed rail network. While a drop in the ocean compared to the 30 billion euros expected to be spent on the total CPK project, the EU funds – 500 million in total for transport – show that the relationship between Brussels and Warsaw has truly thawed with Donald Tusk at the helm. But Poland is still pushing for the EU executive to open up its coffers.
