A specially tailored version of Stadler’s FLIRT Akku train was shown to the public for the first time at InnoTrans today, and with much fanfare. One of 44 trains set for the southern German Palatinate region, the battery-electric FLIRT was hailed by regional politicians, DB representatives, and a Stadler CEO as an answer to flexibly greening regional rail. “A huge step forward,” in their words.
