‘States must invest!’ Stadler CTO talks hydrogen hurdles
In reality, greening trains isn’t always a simple practice. Networks are producing less CO2, but the issue remains of how to take smaller lines out of the diesel-fuelled 20th century. Hydrogen offers a solution for non-electrified routes, but the technology has faced serious hurdles in the real world, with some networks even abandoning their planned H2 fleets due to costs.
