Spain’s budget rail battle: Iryo offers Barca-Malaga route
Spain’s private low-cost operator Iryo has unveiled a new high-speed connection between Málaga and Barcelona. Setting off on 15 December, the daily 5-hour and 50-minute service will up the stakes between the Spanish newcomer, France’s Ouigo and Renfe’s Avlo as they battle for the crown of Spain’s budget rail king. But so far, who is this competition benefitting? For now, it’s not the companies.
