Scotland: services down, fares up, passengers blamed
Peak-time fares are here again. Scotland’s transport policy is in disarray, and everyone is blaming everyone else. Hard on the tail of an intractable industrial dispute, which has seen the timetabled service slashed, comes a blow to anyone who makes the daily commute to work. The experimental suspension of peak-time fares is to be scrapped after the Scottish government claimed it had not achieved its goals.
