UK bank holiday: major rail disruptions, but for a good cause?
As usual during the UK’s summer bank holiday weekend, there are major rail works. And that, of course, means major disruptions. Services to and from London Kings Cross and Euston – two of the country’s busiest stations – will be upended, alongside many more. But there is a silver lining here. The UK’s East Coast Main Line will get a chance to test its new digital signalling systems as Network Rail moves to bring its safety mechanisms into the 21st century.
