Goodnight, night train! ÖBB halts Nightjet routes
Austrian railway company ÖBB is halting several of its night train services—launched only eight months ago—due to “extensive” infrastructure work. Passengers hoping to travel from Berlin and Vienna to Paris and Brussels during the witching hour this summer will have to wait some two months before regular services return. That raises the question of whether Europe’s night train boom can live up to expectations.
